Low Taxes
The
region, its jurisdictions have some of the lowest
if not the lowest tax burdens on business and
industry in California. There are no gross
receipt taxes placed on business, in fact in some
cases there isn't even a business license fee
required.
Educated and
Available Labor Force
The
region has a good work force to meet the needs of
employers. Recent companies located to the
region such as Sysco, Sacramento Valley
Amphitheater, CALPINE and, Home Depot have found
a strong work ethic present in the region.
Existing companies, such as Fremont Ride-Out
Health Group, Sutter Health, Sunsweet, Shoei
Foods and even Beale Air Force Base support the
same fact.
Good
Infrastructure
The
region possesses available land for development
that is served by infrastructure.
Specifically, the area is wrapped in fiber optics
due in part to the relationships with several
companies including, Qwest, Pacific Bell,
AT&T Broadband and Western Integrated Network
(WIN).
A Pro
Business Climate
The
region formulated a public-private non-profit
organization, the Yuba-Sutter Economic
Development Corporation. Since 1995, this
organization has created a unifying visions,
mission and goal to formulate a diversified, and
sustainable economy. The vision of this
organization is to become the best rural economic
development organization in California within
three years and the best in the nation in
five. Given the current ranking by Forbes,
it appears that both the organization and the
region are well on their way to achieving that
vision.
Stable Political
Environment
The
region has a stable political environment that
has brought about the unifying vision for the
region. This stable environment has allowed
for the opportunity for success that the region
has and is currently enjoying.
Additionally, local political leaders embrace
working with local business leaders in creating
and ensuring this stable environment.
