Local jurisdictions are, from time to time,
granted public funds from the State of
California, Department of Housing and Community
Development's "Community Development Block Grant"
(CDBG) program for the purpose of
creating a Revolving Loan Fund. These funds are
earmarked for projects that will create or retain
private sector jobs, or provide goods or services
for low and moderate income
persons.
Grant funds are delivered to the
community in the form of business assistance
loans through the Yuba-Sutter Economic
Development Corporation which acts as the service
provider for the local
jurisdictions.
Loans are made to qualified businesses
to fill "GAPs" in local private sector lending
practices which leave some businesses unable to
obtain suitable
financing.
